1. Wireframes Building a good website starts with a high quality wireframe:

When the request to build a website is made, the first thing I think about is building a wireframe. The wireframe includes the placement of images, information, page layout, content, interface elements, navigational systems, and may go even as far as how they work together. A wireframe is better known as a page schematic or a blueprint of the web page. It is used as a visual guide that represents the skeletal framework of a website. The main focus is on functionality and bevahior so the focus is on what it does not what it looks like. 2. Mockups The next step is creating a mockup based on the wireframes:

After the wireframes have been approved, the next step is building mockups. I have a collection of hundreds of templates build in XHTML that I make a freeze frame of and adjust with color, imagery, and other layout changes. The customer normally gets two or three possibilities and we choose one for a more perfect desired look. Click the images below for a close up view of my work on building mockups for clients.

3. Web Pages The third step is building the webpage with the correct web language and software:

When building a web page you must be aware of the analytics, web 2.0 standards, in line with 508 compliance, and the overall functionality of the webpage.

4. Final Website The fourth step is the complete website:

The completed website may utilize a variety of software and web language. Now that all of the pieces are together, below are final product examples in HTML 4.01 strict, HTML5, CSS 3.0, and actionscript 2.0:
